As Latino leaders in our community and products of a low-income and under-resourced schools in San Bernardino County, we understand that opportunity, economic freedom, and success begins with an education.

San Bernardino County has a baccalaureate attainment of only 21.8 percent, which is the lowest in the country outside of Brooklyn, New York.

It is time for change and that is why Lifting Our Stories (L.O.S.) was founded, to change these outcomes. Lifting Our Stories is a nonprofit organization that seeks to empower our youth of the Inland Empire to lead, serve, and enact societal change.

Lifting Our Stories provides an experiential leadership curriculum around identity awareness, career exploration, and culminates with a research and action project. In all our programs, we create opportunities for cross-generational and cross-cultural partnerships through an outdoor setting that provides our youth a renewed perspective of their relationship to the natural lands and community. By empowering our youth and giving them spaces to have their voices heard, we believe we can change the circumstances that are breeding the educational inequities plaguing our community.
