Alejandro Gutierrez Chavez

 

Co founder

Alejandro is a co-founder at LOS. He is a first-generation chicano and former educator who is currently working for First5 San Bernardino as Research and Evaluation Analyst. In 2017, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain Management. 
While attending CSUSB, he was named one of area’s 30 Most Influential Leaders Under 30 by Assemblywomen Eloise Reyes for his transformational leadership to the San Bernardino community as ASI President. 
His vision is to use his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership abilities to create an entrepreneurial pipeline in the Inland Empire so the youth can pursue their dreams while giving back to the community that raised them. 
 
 
 

 

Jorge Enrique Zatarain

Co Founder & Executive Director

Jorge Enrique Zatarain is the co-founder and Executive Director of Lifting Our Stories (L.O.S.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented youth in California’s Inland Empire. As a first-generation Mexican-American and son of immigrants from Mazatlán, Mexico, Jorge’s passion for community, philanthropy, and youth empowerment has earned him honors from the California Senate, Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Currently, Jorge is pursuing a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at USC, where he also serves as President of the USC Latino Graduate Student Association, advancing the voice and presence of Latino graduate students on campus. He is additionally a Director at El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center, where he works to create equitable educational opportunities and uplift underserved communities.

Jorge’s professional journey spans over 30 states and includes international travel, experiences that sparked his love for exploration and adventure. His vision for L.O.S. is to build a community-based organization that equips underrepresented students with the resources to succeed and inspire others. When he’s not working or advocating for his community, you can find him exploring San Bernardino’s natural landscapes.
