Co Founder & Executive Director
Jorge Enrique Zatarain is the co-founder and Executive Director of Lifting Our Stories (L.O.S.), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented youth in California’s Inland Empire. As a first-generation Mexican-American and son of immigrants from Mazatlán, Mexico, Jorge’s passion for community, philanthropy, and youth empowerment has earned him honors from the California Senate, Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Currently, Jorge is pursuing a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at USC, where he also serves as President of the USC Latino Graduate Student Association, advancing the voice and presence of Latino graduate students on campus. He is additionally a Director at El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center, where he works to create equitable educational opportunities and uplift underserved communities.
Jorge’s professional journey spans over 30 states and includes international travel, experiences that sparked his love for exploration and adventure. His vision for L.O.S. is to build a community-based organization that equips underrepresented students with the resources to succeed and inspire others. When he’s not working or advocating for his community, you can find him exploring San Bernardino’s natural landscapes.
